Pick up truck driving down US Route 1

BY CAR

Driving to Key West is a popular option, as it offers the flexibility to explore the Florida Keys at your own pace. The scenic overseas highway connects the islands and offers stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. From Miami, the drive takes about 3.5 hours, and from Key Largo it takes about 2 hours.


Keep in mind that traffic can be heavy during peak season, so plan accordingly. ALSO, parking is VERY limited and expensive in Key West.

Flying to Key West is a quick and convenient option, with the Key West International Airport located just a few miles from downtown. Daily flights are available from major cities such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Washington DC, Dallas, and Atlanta. The airport offers various transportation options such as taxis, UBER/Lyft, and rental cars.


Flying is a great option if you're short on time or want to avoid the long drive.

Taking a ferry to Key West is a unique and scenic option that offers stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding islands. The Key West Express departs from Fort Myers and Marco Island, Florida. Trips take 4-5 hours from port to port. The ferry offers various amenities such as a full bar, snacks, and comfortable seating.


This is a great option if you want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.
